Chris was the master chef for the kiwi-chutney and the kiwi jam, we made a big pot of cherry jam too!!
In the evning we went to Waarom Niet, a group project on a farm at Vollezele… We ritually baked bread to celebrate the longest day… Well, I didn’t help that much, but Serge showed me how to test if the oven is at the right temperature: firtst a fire is made in the oven, then the fire is taken out, and then the floor of the oven is cleaned and made less warm by a wet cloth, then we throw some flour in: if the flower turns black immediately, the oven is still too warm and needs cooling down, if it turns brown first and then black, it is at the right temperature to put the breads in for about forty minutes…Chris put the bread in as a well trained baker!!
The bread was soo good!!! And it was a long night! We came back at dawn… Tired but happy!!!
